Privacy Policy
This policy is written to meet common disclosure expectations for the Chrome Web Store and similar distribution channels. It describes the AdLib Pro browser extension and the adlibpro.com marketing site. If you are the developer, you must keep this document aligned with your extension’s actual manifest permissions, behavior, and any data handling described in the Chrome Web Store listing.
Who we are
“AdLib Pro,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the publisher of the AdLib Pro extension and this website. If you operate under a legal entity, replace this section with your legal name, address, and contact details before publishing.
Contact (privacy): [email protected] (replace with your real support or privacy inbox).
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- The AdLib Pro browser extension (the “Extension”); and
- The website at adlibpro.com (the “Site”), including pages you use to download the Extension package.
It does not govern Meta’s websites or services (including the Meta Ad Library). Meta’s privacy practices are described in Meta’s own policies.
Single purpose (Chrome Web Store)
The Extension is designed for a single, clearly stated purpose: to provide additional tools and information on Meta’s Ad Library pages to help you research publicly shown ads (for example, surfacing certain fields on ads pages and enabling downloads of creative assets where applicable), consistent with your permissions and applicable Meta terms.
Do not use the Extension for unrelated purposes. If the Extension’s purpose changes materially, we will update this policy and the store listing.
Information we collect and process
Information you provide
If you email us, submit a form, or contact support, we may receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to respond and operate the service.
Information processed by the Extension on your device
The Extension operates locally in your browser. Depending on the version you install, it may read and process publicly available content and metadata from pages on permitted domains (such as Meta Ad Library pages) so it can render the UI, compute fields, and offer downloads. This processing may include ad text, URLs, and creative asset references that are already visible or available to your browser.
Server-side collection: Unless otherwise disclosed in the Extension, in the Chrome Web Store listing, or in release notes, we do not operate a backend that collects your Ad Library browsing history or personal identifiers for advertising purposes. If a future version introduces remote accounts, analytics, or cloud sync, we will update this policy and the listing before enabling such features.
Website (adlibpro.com) technical data
Like most websites, our hosting may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, user agent, request time, and approximate location derived from IP. We use this for security, reliability, and aggregate statistics.
Chrome permissions and why they are used
The Extension requests only the permissions necessary for its stated purpose. Exact names depend on your manifest. Typical examples include:
-
Host permissions (for example,
https://www.facebook.com/*or similar): required to read and enhance Ad Library pages where the Extension runs. -
storage (for example,
storage): to save your preferences or local state on your device. - activeTab (if used): to interact with the currently active tab when you invoke a feature.
Replace the list above with the exact permissions your manifest.json declares, and keep the Chrome Web Store “Privacy practices” section consistent with this document.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Extension and Site;
- Respond to support requests and legal inquiries;
- Protect security and integrity; detect abuse; and comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws, and we do not use personal information for targeted advertising unrelated to the Extension’s stated purpose.
Sharing of information
We may share information only with:
- Service providers (for example, hosting or email) who process data on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Retention
Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for legitimate business purposes. Server logs are retained for a limited period according to security and operational needs. Local Extension data remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall the Extension.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Where applicable, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland: If we process personal data subject to GDPR/UK GDPR, you may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.
California: California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing (we do not sell personal information as covered by those laws). You may designate an authorized agent where permitted by law.
To exercise rights, contact [email protected] (replace with your real support address).
Children
The Extension and Site are not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International transfers
If you access the Site or Extension from outside the country where we operate, your information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
Third-party services
The Extension interacts with Meta websites. Meta’s collection and use of data is governed by Meta’s policies. Meta’s terms and community standards apply to your use of the Ad Library.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate (for example, the Chrome Web Store listing or a notice in the Extension).
